Feasting on Traditional Sicilian Summer Dishes

Summer is a wonderful time of year for feasting and embracing beautiful summer dishes provided by the abundant fruit and vegetables that are available.  A dear friend suggested that we should get together, prepare and cook some traditional Sicilian food.  With the Christmas and New Year over the opportunity was there for our get together to take place. The weather leading up to the weekend was looking good.  Sunny, hot and very hot.  Perfect for the Sicilian Feast!

I love getting together with friends and taking part in long weekend cook offs.  We enjoy great conversation, debates, cooking and lots of laughter.  For me these are moments that I treasure and am grateful for.

We prepared six traditional dishes and needless to say enjoyed each and every one of them with a lovely glass of beer and wine.  I am sharing photos taken of these dishes and will be posting recipes in the near future.  I am still enjoying a little more time off and will be getting back into work and posting very soon.

For those braving the cold winters in the Northern parts of the world, I hope that this post inspires and evokes your appetite for the coming summer.

Happy New Year to you all and a big Salute to good health, happiness and good friends.
